Green Bay Life Church

About Us

Our Story

The church began in 1959 as a small gathering in a home in Green Bay. As the congregation grew, it moved to 14 Vardon Road, first under the name St Paul's Interdenominational Church Green Bay, then as Green Bay Community Church, and now as Green Bay Life Church.

In every season the church has been a faithful witness of the Gospel of Jesus, and a source of blessing in the local community. Green Bay Life Church belongs within the wider family of churches, Life Church International (LCI).

LCI is active in Australia, New Zealand, and a number of nations throughout Asia. Together we focus on planting and building churches that are multicultural, multi-generational, and unified in the love of Christ.

Green Bay Life Church operates as a Trust, registered with New Zealand Charities Services.

Our Vision

We see the church in Spirit-enabled unity, a demonstration of Kingdom living in the world.

We see the church worshipping God in Spirit and in truth, in awe of His presence, and as our highest offering of honour and gratitude.

We see the whole church growing as disciples of Christ, loving God fully, and our “neighbour” as ourselves.

We see the church extending God's kingdom rule through outreach and mission beyond our walls.

We are united as one body

Our Beliefs and Practices

We affirm the historic statement of faith contained in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God, upon which all our beliefs, practices, and standards for living are based.

We believe the Holy Spirit is at work today revealing God, and maturing His people. We rejoice in His supernatural interventions as an inbreaking of the Kingdom yet to come.

We honour and value our fellowship with all believing churches across denominations and traditions.

The Apostles' Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, God's holy Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Values

Our values stand guard over our commitment, integrity of heart, mission, and relationships. We sincerely believe that who we are determines the fruitfulness of what we do.

John 17:20-21

“[I pray] that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”
